Day one

Opening session

Special session
Türkiye: a new role in the global economy
Current events and changes have placed Turkey in a unique position, at the crossroads of political and commercial interests, between East and West, North and South. Thanks to a flexible and forward-looking strategy, the country has been able to seize opportunities to establish itself as one of the economic centers of the modern world. Thus, in the context of new geopolitical realities, Turkey, with its advantages and challenges, confirms its constructive and important international role based on its economic potential and political sovereignty. What makes the country attractive to the international business community and what potential contribution can it make to the global economy?

Session 1
Energy in motion: new players, new demands, new problems, new solutions
The ongoing tectonic shifts in geopolitics and geoeconomics have a direct impact on energy as the foundation for the economic building. The decisions of many governments, sometimes dictated by considerations far removed from economic realities, directly impact the activities of companies in the energy industry. They demonstrate exceptional resilience and the ability to adapt to new challenges. What does the present and future of the energy industry look like?

Session 2
Changing Europe, Asia, and the world: where are we going?
Geopolitical development leads to changes in the organization of the entire global system. The page of total and global liberalism seems to have been turned, but it is unclear which page is being opened. A multipolar world? What are the poles and how many of them? What are the relations between them? What is the balance of power? What are the security mechanisms — military and political, economic and financial?

Session 3
What changes does the real economy face?
The current economic development, accompanied by various attempts to re-industrialize the USA and other countries, shows that the real sector is vital to an efficient and productive economy, serving as a guarantor of political weight in the modern world. The appeal of the post-industrial system is gradually melting away, like the smile of the Cheshire Cat in Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale, who informs Alice: everyone in Wonderland is crazy. What’s going on in the industrial world? What are the trends, who is gaining power, and who is rolling downhill? What new industries are becoming decisive, although yesterday they might not even have been mentioned, such as the production of rare earth metals? What are the prospects of the major players in the market?

Day two

Session 4
Artificial Intelligence: the end of humanity or a new opportunity for development? (supervised by Sberbank)
In human history, each new technological leap has brought new hopes and new fears alike. So far, the practical outcome of disruptive innovations has been somewhere in the middle. Today we are present at the Artificial Intelligence race. What will come of it? The end of the world of labor as we know it? Perhaps even the end of human civilization, to be replaced by a civilization of self-learning robots? The possibility of an astounding accelerated development of humanity freed from routine? Or will it turn out to be a financial bubble, similar to the dot.com craze at the turn of the century? What does this problem appear to be today?

Session 5
Technological and geopolitical challenges to the global financial system
Each passing year seems to create new problems and new solutions for worldwide finance. The rapid development of increasingly advanced technologies, with various blockages of political origin, creates a confusing structure that requires creative responses to new challenges. How does the financial industry envision the new realities and prospects in our turbulent world?

Session 6
Transportation systems in modern geopolitics: certainty and uncertainty
Geography is destiny, Napoleon Bonaparte argued, because it determines the place, interests, and role of countries, the way of life, and even the thinking of peoples. In today’s modern and increasingly divided world, transportation routes are becoming a crucial factor in economic development. Supply chains, transportation safety and security, and innovative projects, from the New Silk Road to the Northern Sea Route, are changing logistics, creating new transportation hubs, and challenging political and economic players. What are the current trends here?

Session 7
Opportunities and challenges in education and science in the modern world realities
Education and scientific research are increasingly becoming an important element in societies’ economic and social progress. What impact do they have on employment? What are the new trends in the industry, what are the prospects for the new generations? Will they be more educated and capable, as some believe, or will they fail to reach the level of their parents, as others claim?

Session 8
Tourism as an element of global stability
Tourism development is not only an important direction in many economies, including Turkey’s, but also a tool for developing human contacts, knowledge, and understanding of other peoples and countries, i.e. it is a positive factor for global stability and mutual tolerance. What are the trends in the travel industry?

Session 9
Eurasia as a unifying space of cultures and opinions to move towards a society of shared prosperity
For centuries, the vast Eurasian space, with its endless plains, mountains, and rivers, has united and simultaneously divided countries, peoples, and societies, in all their similarities and diversity. What and how can we use for overall progress rather than regression, for reducing rather than increasing inequality, while maintaining originality and difference?
